My father, Peter Moorby Reed, would have celebrated his 95th birthday this week and it seems apt that we pause and remember his lifetime contribution to the home textile industry. “Young Peter”, as he was affectionately known in the weaving community, left a legacy of products which we take for granted nearly a century after his birth.
Like most things in life, mattress manufacturers live by the doctrine “Bigger is better”. As a result, beds have increased steadily in length, width and depth since the Second World War.
