The grounding hue of our Cornstalk percale bed linen creates a restful, relaxed and incredibly comfortable look, and is particularly gorgeous in a countryside home.
This well-balanced shade is a hard to define, veering between the softest light brown and a tawny, timeless deep beige. Without the sunny warmth of Tan, and visibly earthier than Taupe, Cornstalk evokes a sense of nature and harmony. Whether your style is traditional, or you want to inject a more contemporary space with warm minimalism, Cornstalk is a versatile choice.
Colour Schemes
As its name suggests, Cornstalk’s casual feel looks wonderful surrounded by nature, whether it be a rural setting or simply a home filled with soft and tactile materials and finishes gathered from the natural world. This soft and delicate hue sits well amongst period features and muted tones, paired with timber in all shades, rustic tongue-and-groove panelling, and accessorised with characterful antiques. Layer Cornstalk bed linen with a lighter neutral such as Taupe bed linen, or with our signature Linen Union cloth in Dachshund, a warm and embracing brown bed linen.
Why choose cotton percale bed linen?
Reed’s high-quality percale fabric was first created and woven by our co-founder Mark’s grandfather Clifford Reed in 1934 and is an incredibly durable and long-lasting cloth. All Reed percale cotton bed linen is proven to last for more than 800 boil washes, making it a smart investment, as well as a sustainable bed linen choice for homes and hotels alike. The weight of this cloth is 125gsm with an impressive ‘Cover Factor’ of 25.5 out of a maximum 28. Cover Factor is a more reliable and transparent measure of quality than ‘thread count’, since it relates to the tightness of the weave. The higher the Cover Factor of a cloth, then the tighter the weave, and subsequently the softer the handle of the cloth will be, and the greater durability it will offer.
