Our Ebony black bed linen has a wonderful depth of colour and intensity that’s the perfect partner for the lustrous sheen of our sateen weave cloth.
Black bed linen is surprisingly versatile and easy to style with a wide range of interior schemes and styles, so think of our Ebony bed linen as the bedroom equivalent of the perfect little black dress or sharp, tailored tux. Sateen’s soft sheen and exquisite drape instantly creates a glamorous, polished look in the bedroom, while the more flexible weave feels warmer on the skin, making it ideal for cooler climates and seasons. And what could be more inviting than silky bed linen in deep, dramatic black?
Colour Schemes
An all-black bed certainly makes a bold statement, or why not embrace a timeless and elegant monochrome bedroom look and layer black Ebony bed linen with pieces in crisp white cotton percale bed linen? A beautifully dressed, black and white bed is a look that’s always in style.
Why choose cotton sateen bed linen?
In 1998, Mark Reed created this beautiful quality sateen bed linen for the North American market, using our original 400 thread count cotton percale sheeting as inspiration. The silky-smooth feel of sateen bed linen, and the way its weave responds to the light to create a lustrous appearance, has become increasingly popular in recent years. Sateen bed linen is more flexible than percale bed linen and can therefore feel warmer – sateen is ideal winter bed linen – and even look less creased, after a night’s use. However, its looser weave and softness also means that it is less durable than crisp cotton percale bed linen, which is worth considering when looking for the most long-lasting bed linen. The weight of this cloth is 125gsm with a ‘Cover Factor’ of 18.8 out of a maximum 28. Cover Factor is a more reliable and transparent measure of quality than ‘thread count’, since it relates to the tightness of the weave.
