Our Princess Grace bed linen in soft Ivory epitomes timelessness and elegance – just like the iconic personal style of the woman who inspired the design’s creation.
In 1956, the US Embassy in Paris commissioned Reed’s embroidery factory in Madeira to create a unique tablecloth design as a gift for the marriage of Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier of Monaco. Fifty years later, the Reed family transformed the original design into this rich jacquard bed linen, which has become a best-selling, signature design. The ornate, floral-inspired pattern woven into the cloth catches the light beautifully and creates an opulent, glamourous look. What’s more, with matching bedspreads, towels and robes available, you can sprinkle a little Princess Grace luxury throughout your home.
Colour Schemes
The delicate ivory hue of this bed linen looks gorgeous dressing the entire bed, layered with Princess Grace bed linen in the soft neutral shades Taupe and Glacier Grey, or simply with other, plain weaves from the Reed collections, such as our plain percale Ivory bed linen. For the perfect finishing touch, why not top it off with the exquisite Princess Grace quilted bedspread?
Why choose Princess Grace percale bed linen?
This jacquard bed linen is the closest thing to the original design gifted to Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier on their wedding day, and is crafted in a rich jacquard fabric, woven in our 400 thread count percale fabric. Reed’s cotton percale is an incredibly durable and long-lasting cloth, proven to last for more than 800 boil washes, making it a smart investment, as well as a sustainable bed linen choice for homes and hotels alike. The weight of this cloth is 125gsm with an impressive ‘Cover Factor’ of 25.5 out of a maximum 28. Cover Factor is a more reliable and transparent measure of quality than ‘thread count’, since it relates to the tightness of the weave. The higher the Cover Factor of a cloth, then the tighter the weave, and subsequently the softer the handle of the cloth will be, and the greater durability it will offer.
