Personalisation is another trend we are seeing, add a personal touch to your table to make your guests feel extra special this year. A generous velvet ribbon or a napkin that has your guests initials embroidered on and hand-written name tags and menus, all bring that heart warming touch to place settings.
I’ll be adding a favourite photo of each of our guests, to honour memories made and the blessing of time to make more. I haven’t decided whether to add the photos to the napkins bundled with ribbon and wild flowers, or to small glistening photo frames as gifts.
When you think about Christmas, the traditional colours that come to mind are red, green and gold. Have fun with your colour palette this year, anchor your scheme in a classic tone and then add a modern twist.
Burnished berry tones are topping our list, pair shades of raspberry, plum and grape with décor that features gold detailing. It’s a dramatic and sophisticated take on a classic Christmas scheme. Bring in earthy, muted tones like olive green, to honour our appreciation for nature.
Artisanal decorations and embroidered linens, add a traditional element to the holidays. Our classic Scroll table linens are entirely hand sewn and offer a vintage touch to your table if an all white linen look is what you are craving.
My tip for creating a Christmas table that will enchant your guests, is to work out from your centre piece and add layers until you have a rich table scape. Start with a freshly pressed Reed tablecloth, then add your centre piece, this can be floral arrangements, candles, vases of Christmas baubles or simple olive branches, allow your imagination to run wild.

Add your crockery, then polished silverware and glassware. Next, the napkins, and a celebration calls for big bows, interesting folds and Reed designs.
Now the real fun begins, start to fill in the centre of your table with Christmas decorations, and small vessels of bejeweled chocolates, sugared almonds, cherries and treats like ginger and dark chocolate biscotti.
I always see my table as a way to spoil my loved ones on Christmas day, add a small personalised gift to each place setting and hang stockings with treats and gifts on the children chairs.
Are you at a loss for gifting ideas? Or unsure of who might be joining you on the day? I have found over the years, that having a few sets of napkins wrapped and ready to go, make for the perfect last minute gift throughout the holiday season.
It always comes in handy to have hosting gifts and small gifts for unexpected guests at the ready.
Add plump scatter cushions to invite guests to linger longer, light the candles and offer a drinks station with vegan eggnog, bubbly and piles of Reed cocktail napkins.
Now all you have to do is secure some of that beguiling eggnog for yourself and encourage the Christmas crooning of Eartha Kit to gently fill your home.
Happy Festive Table Designing,
